This is a gorgeous, deciduous, ornamental grass with rich yellow leaves, edged in green. It's useful for brightening shady areas, for filling gaps in borders and planting by water, where the fine leaves contrast brilliantly with larger leaved plants. In early summer, it throws up long spikes with brown, feathery flowers. Beautiful evergreen self twining evergreen climbing plant.Has green leaves and fragrant white flowers which appear in Spring. Likes free-draining fertile or moderately fertile soil. Just when you thought you’d have to wait till next year for anything vaguely resembling a snowdrop, Leucojum aestivum 'Gravetye Giant', also known as 'Giant Snowflakes' begin to flower. Perhaps comparing it to lily of the valley would be more accurate, but if so, it’s a giant version. At all events, it’s an extremely easy-going plant that matches up well with your mid to late flowering tulips and narcissus. Leucojum aestivum 'Gravetye Giant' has a special place in gardening history and is named after Gravetye Manor where master-gardener William Robinson brought gardeners back down to earth with natural-look gardening.
